Includes Rubber Boot
Starter motor cranking is activated by depressing a manual lever which contacts a switch sending power from the battery to the coil of a remote solenoid. Energising the solenoid coil causes the solenoid main contacts to close allowing flow of high current circuit from the battery to the M45G starter motor. It’s not uncommon for a starter to fail after years of service especially with these starters as the rubber boot is prone to perishing allowing moisture in. Usual signs the starter motor is on its way out would be a single click from the starter or a series of rapid clicks when the ignition switch is turned to the start position, these symptoms can also point to a faulty solenoid rather than the motor itself.
If you require the rubber boot this is Agriline part number 5191
For original starter motors the contact switch is Agriline part number 5063
The Contact switch has 2 screw threaded terminals ready to connect the wiring up, its also important to check that the contact switch is set right so that the push lever makes contact with the switch and all the wires are making a good connection to both starter motor and tractor otherwise this could lead to further starting issues.
